Jason M. DeLorenzo

Prior to joining EnCap in 1999, Mr. DeLorenzo spent four years at ING Barings in New York working in Corporate Finance specializing in the energy industry. Previously, he was an Associate in the Energy Group at Wells Fargo Bank based in Houston from 1993 to 1995.

Mr. DeLorenzo received a Bachelor of Business Administration from The University of Texas at Austin.

Mr. DeLorenzo serves on the board of directors of several EnCap portfolio companies and is a member of the Independent Petroleum Association of America and the Houston Producers’ Forum.

Douglas E. Swanson, Jr.

Prior to joining EnCap in 1999, Mr. Swanson spent three years as a corporate banker with Frost National Bank and Amegy Bank (formerly Southwest Bank of Texas). Mr. Swanson graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and also received his Master of Business Administration from University of Texas in 1999.

Mr. Swanson serves on the board of directors of several EnCap portfolio companies. In addition, he recently served on the board of the Houston Producers’ Forum and is a member of the Independent Petroleum Association of America and the Texas Independent Producers and Royalty Owners Association. Mr. Swanson also is serving active roles in several philanthropic organizations throughout the City of Houston.

Prior to joining EnCap in July 2006, Mr. Kafka spent two years at First Albany Capital where he worked in the Energy Investment Banking Group.  Previously, Mr. Kafka began his career at Amegy Bank of Texas where he worked in the commercial banking department.

Mr. Kafka received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from The University of Texas at Austin.

Mr. Kafka serves on the board of directors of several EnCap portfolio companies and is a member of the American Petroleum Institute, the Houston Producers’ Forum and the Independent Petroleum Association of America.

Brad A. Thielemann

Prior to rejoining EnCap in September 2006, Mr. Thielemann worked in the Investor Relations and Strategic Planning Groups at Plains All American Pipeline, L.P. Previously, he was an Associate at EnCap from 2000 to 2003 and a Treasury Analyst at Dynegy.

Mr. Thielemann received a Master of Business Administration from Duke University and a Bachelor of Business Administration from The University of Texas at Austin.

Mr. Thielemann serves on the board of directors of several EnCap portfolio companies and is a member of the Houston Producers’ Forum and the Independent Petroleum Association of America.

Charles W. Bauer

Mr. Bauer serves as the head of investor relations and fundraising for EnCap Investments. Prior to joining EnCap in 2010, Mr. Bauer spent five years overseeing the investor relations and fundraising efforts of HM Capital Partners, a middle-market buyout firm based in Dallas. Previously, Mr. Bauer was Chief of Staff to U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions.

Mr. Bauer received a B.S. from Texas Christian University and a Master of Business Administration from the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin.

David B. Miller

Prior to the establishment of EnCap, Mr. Miller served as Co-Chief Executive Officer of MAZE Exploration Inc., a Denver-based oil and gas company he co-founded in 1981. Mr. Miller began his professional career in 1973 with Republic National Bank of Dallas, ultimately serving as Vice President and Manager of the bank’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Republic Energy Finance Corporation.

Mr. Miller is a graduate of Southern Methodist University, having received Bachelor's and Master’s Degrees in Business Administration in 1972 and 1973, respectively. He has served on the Board of Trustees at Southern Methodist University since 2008 and also serves as Chairman of the Executive Board of the Edwin L. Cox School of Business. Mr. Miller is a recipient of Distinguished Alumnus Awards from both Southern Methodist University and the Cox School. In 2009, Mr. Miller was honored with the Silver Anniversary Mustang Award by the SMU Lettermen’s Association.

In 2004, Mr. Miller was appointed to the National Petroleum Council, an advisory body to the Secretary of Energy, and he is a member of the Board of Advisors of the Maguire Energy Institute. Mr. Miller was inducted into the Rocky Mountain Oil & Gas Hall of Fame and the Dallas Business Hall of Fame in 2014 and 2015, respectively.

Mr. Miller and the Miller Family Foundation support numerous charities. He is the immediate past Chairman of the Board of Goodwill Industries of Dallas and serves on the Board of Directors of the George W. Bush Foundation, the DFW Salvation Army, Methodist Health System Foundation, the UT Southwestern Medical Foundation, the Baylor Healthcare Foundation and the National Association of Basketball Coaches Foundation. He is former Board Chair and an Honorary Lifetime Director of the Senior Source of Greater Dallas. The Senior Source recognized Mr. Miller and his wife, Carolyn, with the Spirit of Generations Award in 2011. Mr. Miller was honored with the Volunteer Center’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013, and he received the L. Frank Pitts Energy Leadership award from the Maguire Energy Institute in 2014. In 2017, Mr. Miller was honored by the Methodist Health System Foundation with the Robert S. Folsom Leadership Award.

Gary R. Petersen

Prior to the formation of EnCap in 1988, Mr. Petersen was a Senior Vice President and Manager of the Corporate Finance Division of the Energy Banking Group for Republic Bank, Houston from 1985 to 1988. His duties and responsibilities included mergers and acquisitions, financial advisory services and institutional fundraising activities for the energy industry. Prior to his position at Republic Bank, Mr. Petersen was an Executive Vice President and a member of the board of directors of Nicklos Oil & Gas Company in Houston from 1979 to 1984. Previously, Mr. Petersen was a Group Vice President in the Petroleum and Minerals Division of Republic Bank, Dallas. He served from 1970 to 1971 in the U.S. Army in Washington, D.C., as a First Lieutenant in the Finance Corps and as an Army Officer in the Army Security Agency.

Mr. Petersen holds Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Business Administration degrees in finance from Texas Tech University and is a Distinguished Alumnus of Texas Tech. Mr. Petersen also has done post-graduate work at American University and the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University.

Mr. Petersen serves on the board of directors of several EnCap portfolio companies and is a member of the board of Plains All American, Inc. (NYSE: PAA) and EV Energy Partners (Nasdaq: EVEP). He is a member of the Independent Petroleum Association of America and the Houston Producers’ Forum. He is currently a member of the Memorial Hermann Healthcare System Foundation Board and Chairman of the Council on Alcohol & Drugs Foundation Board in Houston. Mr. Petersen is a minority owner and limited partner of the NFL’s Houston Texans and Major League Baseball’s Houston Astros.

D. Martin Phillips

D. Martin Phillips is a Managing Partner and Co-Founder of EnCap Investments L.P.  Mr. Phillips plays a leadership role in all levels of executive management including investments, fundraising, finance, accounting, compliance and personnel.

Prior to the formation of EnCap, Mr. Phillips was a Senior Vice President in the Energy Banking Group of NationsBank in Dallas. 

Mr. Phillips serves on the board of directors of several EnCap portfolio companies and is a member of the Independent Petroleum Association of America, the American Petroleum Institute and the Houston Producers’ Forum.  In addition, Mr. Phillips’ community involvement includes serving as the National Chairman and board member of the One Goal Foundation and also serves as a board member of the Small Steps Nurturing Center, LSU Foundation and E.J. Ourso College of Business.

Mr. Phillips holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science degree from Louisiana State University. He is a member of the LSU College of Business Hall of Distinction. Additionally, Mr. Phillips also attended the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University.

Robert L. Zorich

Prior to the formation of EnCap, Mr. Zorich was a Senior Vice President in charge of the Houston office of Trust Company of the West, a large, privately held pension fund manager. Prior to that, Mr. Zorich co-founded MAZE Exploration, Inc., an oil and gas exploration and development company. During the first seven years of Mr. Zorich’s career, he was employed by Republic Bank as a Vice President and Division Manager in the Energy Department.

Mr. Zorich received his B.A. in Economics from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1971. He also received a Master’s degree in International Management (with distinction) in 1974 from the American Graduate School of International Management in Phoenix.

Mr. Zorich serves on the board of directors of several EnCap portfolio companies. He is a member of the Independent Petroleum Association of America, the Houston Producers’ Forum and Texas Independent Producers and Royalty Owners Association. Mr. Zorich also serves on the board of several Houston charities including The Workfaith Connection, The Hope and Healing Center and is an emeritus member of Memorial Assistant Ministries.

Mark Burroughs, Jr.

Prior to joining EnCap in March 2007, Mr. Burroughs spent four years working in UBS Investment Bank’s Global Energy Group. While at UBS, Mr. Burroughs worked on over 20 capital markets transactions raising over $11 billion in capital and worked on several M&A advisory assignments. Prior to joining UBS Investment Bank, Mr. Burroughs spent three years at Sanders Morris Harris, Inc., an investment banking firm in Houston.

He received a Master of Business Administration degree from the Jesse H. Jones School of Management at Rice University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from The University of Texas at Austin.

Mr. Burroughs serves on the board of directors of several EnCap portfolio companies and is a member of the Houston Producers’ Forum and the Independent Petroleum Association of America. In addition, he serves on the board of directors of both the Broach Foundation For Brain Cancer Research and the Small Steps Nurturing Center. 

Ryan P. Devlin

Prior to joining EnCap in August 2005, Mr. Devlin spent two years at Amegy Bank of Texas, where he ended as a Banking Officer for its commercial banking department.

Mr. Devlin received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Economics from Brown University.

Mr. Devlin serves on the board of directors of several EnCap portfolio companies and is a member of the Houston Producers’ Forum, the Independent Petroleum Association of America and Young Professionals in Energy.

Jerry Smith

Mr. Smith is a Managing Director with EnCap Investments L.P., where he leads engineering and geoscience efforts across the firm. Prior to joining EnCap, Mr. Smith was a Managing Director and Co-Founder of Evercore’s Acquisitions and Divestitures (A&D) practice. For over four years at Evercore, he led a technical team that advised on dozens of energy transactions totaling over $50 billion. Mr. Smith began his career with ExxonMobil’s U.S. West division in 2002, where he spent five years leading a variety of conventional and unconventional oil and gas development programs across major U.S. basins. In 2007, Mr. Smith joined Citation Oil & Gas, a large private E&P company, where he coordinated all of the firm’s A&D and reserves efforts until leaving in 2010 to join Scotia Waterous as an Associate Director.

Mr. Smith graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from The University of Tennessee in 2002 and also received his MBA from The University of Texas at Austin in 2008.

Brooks Despot

Brooks Despot rejoined the investment staff at EnCap in September 2014. Previously, Mr. Despot was the VP-Finance and CFO of Escondido Resources II, an EnCap-backed portfolio company. During his time at Escondido II, Mr. Despot played an integral role in the strategic merger of Escondido II with another EnCap-backed portfolio company. Prior to Escondido II, Mr. Despot was an Associate at EnCap from 2009 to 2013.

Mr. Despot holds a Master of Business Administration in Corporate Finance from Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management as well as a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from Louisiana State University, where he graduated Cum Laude. 

Mr. Despot serves on the board of directors for several EnCap portfolio companies and is a member of the Houston Producers’ Forum and the Independent Petroleum Association of America. In addition, he serves on the board of directors for Small Steps Nurturing Center, a nonprofit organization providing education to at-risk children in Houston, and The Children’s Fund, an organization dedicated to helping early-stage charities fulfill their mission to provide critical services to disadvantaged children across the greater Houston area.

Mitchell D. Hovendick

Prior to joining EnCap in 1997, Mr. Hovendick spent 15 years as a Petroleum Engineer with Phillips Petroleum Company, where he worked primarily as a reservoir engineer in almost all major basins of the U.S.

Mr. Hovendick received a Master of Business Administration in Finance from Rice University and holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University.

He is a registered professional petroleum engineer and is a member (and author) of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, Houston Producers’ Forum and Independent Petroleum Association of America.

Taylor McCay

Mr. McCay has more than 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry working primarily as a Petroleum Geologist.  Most recently, he worked as a Senior Geologist responsible for the drilling, management and development of assets in the Mid-Continent for Gastar Exploration, Inc.  Prior to Gastar Exploration, Inc. Mr. McCay worked at Drillinginfo Inc. from 2007-2011 and worked as a geologist at Krescent Energy, LLC and ASRC Energy Services.  

Mr. McCay graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. in Geological Sciences from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  During his time at UNC, he competed on the wrestling team. 

He is a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists. 

George W. Purgason

Prior to joining EnCap in July 2012, Mr. Purgason spent three years at Anadarko Petroleum Corporation. While at Anadarko, Mr. Purgason worked in multiple U.S. basins as a Production Engineer and most recently as a Reservoir Engineer.

Mr. Purgason holds a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Business Administration from Rice University.

Mr. Purgason is a member of the Houston Producers Forum, the Independent Petroleum Association of America, and the Society of Petroleum Engineers.

Bryan Stahl

Prior to joining EnCap in July 2012, Mr. Stahl spent three years between the Global Energy Investment Banking Groups at Citigroup and UBS Investment Bank, where he focused on public capital raises and M&A advisory work within the energy industry.

Mr. Stahl holds a Bachelor of Science in Commerce with concentrations in Finance and Management from the McIntire School at the University of Virginia. During his time at Virginia, he was an All-American swimmer and competed in the 2008 U.S. Olympic Trials. He is a member of the Houston Producers’ Forum and the Independent Petroleum Association of America.

Connor Michelsen

Prior to joining EnCap in June 2018, Connor Michelsen spent two years working in the Energy Investment Banking Group at Jefferies in Houston, where he focused on acquisition and divestiture work and private capital raises within the energy industry.

Mr. Michelsen graduated from Princeton University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. He is a member of the Houston Producers’ Forum, the Independent Petroleum Association of America and Young Professionals in Finance.

 

Michael Guenther

Prior to joining EnCap in July 2019, Mr. Guenther spent two years working in the Global Energy Investment Banking Group at Citigroup in Houston, where he focused on M&A advisory work and public capital raises within the energy industry.

Mr. Guenther began his career as a petroleum engineer with Southwestern Energy. He received a Master of Energy Economics from Rice University and holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. He is a member of the Independent Petroleum Association of America and the Society of Petroleum Engineers.

Mary Mullins Cope

Prior to joining EnCap in June 2023, Mrs. Cope was an Investment Banking Summer Associate at Credit Suisse on the Global Energy and Infrastructure team where she focused on M&A advisory work within the energy industry. She also spent four years working as a design engineer in the downstream oil and gas industry. Mrs. Cope splits her time between the upstream investment staff and the investor relations team.

Mrs. Cope holds a Master of Business Administration from Rice University and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Alabama. She serves as a Young Ambassador for the Houston Ballet.

Wilson Jeckovich

Prior to joining EnCap in April 2023, Mr. Jeckovich spent two years working in the Business Development Group at ConocoPhillips, where he focused on executing acquisitions, divestitures, and trades, primarily within the Permian Basin.  Mr. Jeckovich began his career at Concho Resources where he worked for four years in both the Midland and Houston offices.

Mr. Jeckovich graduated with a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 2016 and also received a Masters in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin in 2017.

Andrew Perry

Prior to joining EnCap in January 2021, Andrew Perry spent four years working in the Energy Investment Banking Group at Tudor, Pickering, Holt in Houston, where he focused on A&D and M&A advisory work within the energy industry. 

Mr. Perry graduated from Southern Methodist University, where he received Bachelor of Arts degrees in both Finance and Geology with an energy concentration. He is a member of the Independent Petroleum Association of America and Young Professionals in Finance.

Prior to joining EnCap in July 2022, Mr. Provost spent two and half years working in the Natural Resource and Infrastructure Investment Banking Group at Société Générale in Houston, where he focused on project/structured finance, debt advisory, and private capital raises across the entire energy value chain centered in both the U.S. and Latin America jurisdictions.

Mr. Provost began his career at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, Wells Fargo Corporate and Investment Banking Group. He holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration in Finance and a Master’s in Business Administration with a double concentration in Accounting and Finance from the University of Texas A&M – Corpus Christi.

William D. Waldrip

William ("Bill") D. Waldrip is a Founder of EnCap Flatrock Midstream. From 2000 to 2008, Mr. Waldrip served as President, Senior Partner and Founder of Flatrock Energy Advisors, providing advisory services for the midstream sector. His past responsibilities include serving as COO for Lewis Energy Group and as Vice President and Southwestern Region Manager for Delhi Gas Pipeline. At Delhi, he was responsible for all commercial, engineering, operations and administrative matters associated with Delhi’s assets in South and West Texas, including direct P&L responsibility. He began his career as an engineer with Texas Eastern Transmission Corporation in Houston. He has extensive background in the natural gas gathering segment along with experience with natural gas liquids and crude oil facilities.

Mr. Waldrip holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Louisiana Tech University and completed an Advanced Management Program at Indiana University Graduate School of Business in 1992. Mr. Waldrip is a Registered Professional Engineer (Inactive) in Texas. He also currently serves on the board of directors of several EFM portfolio companies, including Ironwood Midstream Energy Partners.

William R. Lemmons Jr.

William ("Billy") R. Lemmons, Jr. is a Founder of EnCap Flatrock Midstream. From 2002 to 2008, Mr. Lemmons served as an Executive Vice President and Senior Partner of Flatrock Energy Advisors. Prior to joining Flatrock in 2002, Mr. Lemmons served as a Vice President with Enron Corp., where he held various energy finance and commercial origination positions from 1992 to 2002. From 1984 to 1992, Mr. Lemmons was with Texas Oil & Gas Corporation, where he was a Project Development Engineer with Delhi Gas Pipeline, a Drilling and Production Engineer with TXO Production, and worked in Corporate Planning & Strategy Development.

Mr. Lemmons holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University, as well as an M.B.A. (Phi Kappa Phi) from the Mays Graduate School of Business at Texas A&M University. He is a Registered Professional Engineer (Inactive) in Texas, a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and a member of the Society of Petroleum Evaluation Engineers. The Lemmons family is active in supporting several service organizations such as Hill Country Daily Bread, Hill Country Family Services and Family Legacy Ministries in Zambia. Additionally, Mr. Lemmons has been and remains active on various advisory and other boards at Texas A&M University. He currently serves as Chair of the Board of Trustees and previously served as Chair of the Investment Committee on the Board of Trustees of the Texas A&M Foundation. In July 2017, Mr. Lemmons was appointed to the Board of Trustees of the George & Barbara Bush Foundation, and in May 2013, he was a Civilian Fellow at the 60th National Security Forum at the Air War College at Maxwell AFB in Montgomery, Alabama. He currently serves on the board of directors of several EFM portfolio companies, including Cardinal Midstream Partners and M6 Midstream.

Dennis F. Jaggi

Dennis F. Jaggi is a Founder of EnCap Flatrock Midstream. From 2008 to 2019 he served as Managing Partner and Founder. From 2001 to 2008, Mr. Jaggi served as an Executive Vice President and Senior Partner of Flatrock Energy Advisors. Prior to Flatrock Energy Advisors, Mr. Jaggi served as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Enogex Inc., an Oklahoma-based midstream affiliate of OGE Energy. At Enogex, he was responsible for management of all operations, engineering design and construction, gas control, capital investments, gas supply and E&P activities. From 1981 to 1997, prior to his role with Enogex, Mr. Jaggi was Vice President and Regional Manager with Delhi Pipeline Corporation, a subsidiary of Texas Oil and Gas Corp., where he managed and directed the activities of Delhi's Northern Region in Oklahoma City. Prior to his role at Delhi, Mr. Jaggi had positions of increasing responsibility with Texas Eastern Transmission.

Mr. Jaggi holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla (now the Missouri University of Science and Technology). He is a member of The Academy of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. He is also a Registered Professional Engineer (Inactive) in Texas and Louisiana. Mr. Jaggi previously served as Chairman of the Board and Campaign Chairman for the United Way of Central Oklahoma and is currently a member of the Board of Trustees.

Gregory C. King

Gregory ("Greg") C. King is a Managing Partner of EnCap Flatrock Midstream. Prior to joining EnCap FlatrockMidstream in 2015, Mr. King served as President of Valero Energy Corporation (NYSE: VLO) from 2003 to 2007. As Valero’s President, he helped develop and execute a strategy to build the largest independent refiner in North America. During the same period, he also served as a member of the board of directors of Valero, LP (now NuStar Energy, L.P) (NYSE: NS). Mr. King held various roles before being named President, including General Counsel and Chief Operating Officer.

Mr. King also is actively involved with a number of charitable organizations. He serves as the Chairman of Focus on the Family, a national, faith-based organization headquartered in Colorado Springs. Mr. King is also a Director Emeritus of the University of Houston Law Foundation. Mr. King earned his J.D. at the University of Houston Law Center in 1985 and practiced law as a partner at Bracewell LLP’s Houston office from 1985 to 1993. He received a B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Texas in 1982. Mr. King currently serves on the board of directors of several EnCap Flatrock portfolio companies, including BMR Midstream, Edgewater Midstream, Manchester Energy Partners and Moda Midstream.

David J. Kurtz

David J. Kurtz is a Managing Partner of EnCap Flatrock Midstream. Prior to joining EnCap Flatrock Midstream in 2014, Mr. Kurtz served as President and Partner of Alpine, Inc., an exploration and production company focused on both conventional and unconventional plays. From 2003 to 2013 with Alpine, Mr. Kurtz was responsible for raising capital, acquiring and developing acreage, and the divestiture of more than 700,000 acres in various project areas. Prior to Alpine, Mr. Kurtz served as Vice President of Business Development for OGE Energy Corp., an Oklahoma regulated public utility, and its subsidiary Enogex Inc., an unregulated midstream company, where he was responsible for the successful acquisition and divestiture of numerous assets. Mr. Kurtz has also held various engineering, commercial, and project development positions with Delhi Pipeline Corporation.

Mr. Kurtz holds a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Kansas and an M.B.A. from Oklahoma City University. Samuel G. Pitts is a Managing Partner of EnCap Flatrock Midstream. Prior to joining EnCap Flatrock Midstream in 2014, Mr. Pitts was part of the senior leadership team in the Global Energy Investment Banking Group at Citigroup. In this capacity, he focused on financial advisory work related to mergers, acquisitions and divestitures within the midstream and upstream sectors, as well as public and private capital market raises. Prior to that, he was with UBS Investment Bank and a predecessor, Dillon Read & Co. During his investment banking career, Mr. Pitts advised on over $50 billion in transactions and represented issuers in over $15 billion of securities offerings.

Prior to Citi, Mr. Melton was a senior analyst working in the Asset Management Group at Goldman Sachs, where he focused primarily on the sales effort for the MLP Energy Infrastructure Fund. At Williams, he provided engineering support on greenfield and acquisition projects in the business development group, as well as engineering pipeline and facilities infrastructure in the Eagle Ford Shale play. Mr. Misialek holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Spanish from Oklahoma State University. He is a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. Abigail R. Stavinoha

Abigail R. Stavinoha is a Vice President of EnCap Flatrock Midstream. Ms. Stavinoha supports all finance, administrative and accounting functions of EFM’s funds and portfolio companies. Prior to joining EnCap Flatrock Midstream in 2020, Ms. Stavinoha was Manager – Project Development at Sterling Energy Investments, providing technical and commercial support for midstream infrastructure in Colorado’s Denver-Julesburg Basin. She also previously worked as an engineer for Chevron Phillips Chemical Company at the Sweeny Complex in Texas.

Ms. Stavinoha holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Kansas and an MBA from Harvard Business School. She is a Registered Professional Engineer in Colorado and previously served on the Board of Directors of the GPA Midstream Rocky Mountain Chapter. She currently serves on the board of directors of several EFM portfolio companies, including BMR Midstream, Cardinal Midstream Partners. Rangeland Energy IV and Vecino Energy Partners.

Meredith M. Stieler is the Vice President of Accounting and Controller of EnCap Flatrock Midstream. Ms. Stieler joined EnCap Flatrock Midstream in 2012 and has more than 30 years of experience in accounting and risk management positions. She began her career in public accounting and served as a Senior Auditor with KPMG. In 1990, she joined the wholesale gas trading business at Enron Corp. and over the next 12 years served in a variety of energy accounting and risk management positions. Ms. Stieler has held positions as Controller in the construction industry and a non-profit organization serving youth in Texas. Ms. Stieler holds a B.B.A. in Accounting from Texas A&M University and an M.B.A. from Houston Baptist University.

Prior to joining EnCap Flatrock Midstream, Mr. Lupo spent nearly five years at Howard Energy Partners building a GIS infrastructure as a Senior GIS Analyst. Before his role at Howard Energy Partners, Mr. Lupo grew his experience in Occidental Petroleum’s Information Technology GIS group supporting Oxy’s worldwide GIS infrastructure and growing their South Texas and Mid-Con GIS systems. Mr. Hughes served as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Prisma Energy Capital, a private entity focused on investments in energy storage, from December 2017 to July 2019. He served as CEO of First Solar (NASDAQ – FSLR) from May 2012 to June 2016. Prior to joining First Solar, Mr. Hughes served from October 2007 until April 2011 as Chief Executive Officer and a Director of AEI Services LLC, which owned and operated power distribution, power generation (both thermal and renewable), natural gas transportation and services, and natural gas distribution businesses in emerging markets worldwide.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Hughes was President of Prisma Energy International and spent almost a decade with Enron Corporation in positions that included President and Chief Operating Officer of Enron Global Assets, President and Chief Operating Officer of Enron Asia Pacific, Africa and China and as Assistant General Counsel of Enron International.

Mr. Hughes is a Director of TPI Composites, Inc. (NASDAQ – TPIC), which is the world’s largest independent manufacturer of wind turbine blades with operations in the U.S., China, Turkey and Mexico. He is a Director of Alcoa Corporation, (NYSE – AA) which was spun out from Alcoa, Inc. in late 2016. Mr. Hughes is also a Director of PNM Resources, Inc. (NYSE – PNM) an investor-owned utility with operations in Texas and New Mexico. He is the former chairman and currently serves as a member of the board of directors of the Los Angeles branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. He is also a member of the Energy Advisory Board of the Dallas Federal Reserve Bank.

Tim Rebhorn

Mr. Rebhorn was previously with Prisma Energy since its founding in 2017. Mr. Rebhorn has more than 30 years of experience in the power generation industry in operations and maintenance, construction, development, and asset management both domestically and internationally.

From 2013 to 2016, Mr. Rebhorn was a senior executive at First Solar, the largest U.S.-based PV module manufacturer. From 2013 to 2015, he served as Senior Vice President of the Americas, responsible for sales and project development in the Western Hemisphere and responsible for roughly two-thirds of the company’s P&L. In 2015, Mr. Rebhorn was promoted to Executive Vice President in charge of Strategic Marketing, a newly created role for the company.

Prior to First Solar, Mr. Rebhorn was providing turnaround CEO services from 2010-2013 including roles as the CEO of Quail Nuclear Specialty Services, a nuclear construction services company and Canopy Claims Management, a newly created property insurance claims management company.

From 1996 to 2008, Mr. Rebhorn was a founder and Managing Director of Resolutions Management Ltd, a consultancy specializing in development support, turnarounds and workouts. Mr. Rebhorn’s clients included BHP Billiton, BP Global Energy, Laurus Energy, Enron International and the Enron Estate, and Ashmore Energy International.

Mr. Rebhorn is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and is a Certified Naval Nuclear Engineer. He received his MBA at Texas A&M University. Mr. Rebhorn has served on the Board of the Smart Electric Power Alliance and is currently Chairman of the Board of Solar Proponent and a member of the board of directors at Broad Reach Power, Catalyze, Jupiter Power and Triple Oak Power.

Shawn Cumberland

Mr. Cumberland currently sits on the board of directors for Saavi Energia (a portfolio company of Actis), the fourth-largest independent power company in Mexico. Mr. Cumberland was previously with Prisma Energy, sitting on the board and originating several of Prisma’s portfolio investments.

Mr. Cumberland established the U.S. office and was Head of North America for Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners from April 2016 to August 2018. During his tenure, the U.S. team originated three major portfolio companies: Scout Clean Energy (a wind development company with a pipeline of 2GW); GlidePath Power Solutions (a battery and distributed power developer); and the Gemini Solar Project in Nevada (approximately 1GW). He originated and managed the investment in Scout, which represents one of Quinbrook’s largest investments.

In December 2002, Mr. Cumberland co-founded Arctas Capital Group, which he co-headed until he joined Quinbrook in 2016. Arctas was an investor and advisor on several renewables and other energy infrastructure projects both domestically and internationally. He held senior executive roles at Enron, including President of Enron Caribbean, responsible for 15 energy businesses in eight countries (including power generation and distribution, gas pipelines, gas processing, LNG and LPG) and served on the boards of two regionally listed companies. He was Senior Managing Director at El Paso Merchant Energy.

Mr. Cumberland co-founded The Wing Group and Power Pacific Company – firms that developed power infrastructure investments in emerging markets. He started his career as an M&A, corporate securities and finance attorney in the Houston and London offices of Vinson & Elkins. He is Chairman of the Board of Directors for Broad Reach Power and Catalyze and serves on the board of directors for Jupiter Power, Solar Proponent, and Triple Oak Power.

Kellie Metcalf

Before joining EnCap, Ms. Metcalf was a Senior Director at Pattern Development, a renewable energy and transmission development firm, from 2010 through 2019. While at Pattern, she was responsible for the company’s power marketing, origination and A&D efforts. During her tenure at Pattern Development, the management team successfully developed over 4000MW of wind and solar assets across a global footprint and raised over $8 billion in capital.

Prior to her position at Pattern Development, Ms. Metcalf held senior roles at Barclays Bank and Fortis Bank where she was responsible for power marketing and origination efforts for the banks. She held those roles from 2007 to 2010. From 2003 to 2007, Ms. Metcalf was a senior originator for Florida Power & Light’s unregulated business, where she was responsible for U.S. power market transactions. From 2002 to 2003, Ms. Metcalf was a founding member of Zilkha Renewable Energy which subsequently became Horizon Wind. Ms. Metcalf began her career in 1995 at Enron North America where she held various roles in power trading, power marketing and finance. Ms. Metcalf served as a First Lieutenant in the US Army from 1988 to 1991. Prior to joining EnCap in August 2019, Mr. Friou spent 23 years in client service at PwC in Houston, Aberdeen (UK) and Dallas. His clients primarily included public- and private-equity-backed independent E&P and oilfield services companies. He was in the audit practice for 21 years before joining transaction services, where he helped private companies go public and worked with public companies’ registration statements required for capital raising, M&A and asset acquisitions.

Mr. Friou is widely regarded as a subject matter expert in the oil and gas industry. He was a key contributor to the development of the Petroleum Accounting 7th Edition textbook and to the U.S. PwC Survey of U.S. Petroleum Accounting Practices. Mr. Friou also is a founding member of the Planning Committee for the AICPA/PDI National Oil and Gas Conference. Mr. Friou also spent seven years developing the content for and presenting at PwC's Petroleum Academy and served as a guest lecturer at the UT- Dallas in Oil & Gas Financial Management.

Outside of work, Mr. Friou is a dedicated volunteer and avid supporter of local organizations. He is a community service volunteer and board member of the Rotary Club of West U and Youth Development Center (YDC). He has also been a fundraiser for the Rotary Lombardi Award, supporting the fight against cancer.

Mr. Friou is a graduate of The University of Texas with BBA and MPA degrees in accounting. He is a CPA and a member of the Independent Petroleum Association of America.

Mr. Haier joined EnCap in March 1997 and served as the Chief Financial Officer from 2003 through the end of 2020. Prior to joining EnCap in 1997, Mr. Haier served in public accounting for 10 years, with the last seven years in the Price Waterhouse Energy Group.

As a Senior Manager, Mr. Haier was responsible for providing audit and business advisory services primarily to integrated energy and independent oil and gas companies. Mr. Haier also served in the Price Waterhouse Corporate Finance Group, where he focused on transaction support and investment advisory services.

Mr. Haier is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Management Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from The University of Texas at Austin.

Melissa Standley

Prior to joining EnCap in March 2008, Ms. Standley served in the corporate tax department of Tesco Corporation, an oilfield services company. Previously, from 2001 to 2006, she was the Tax Director of BindView Corporation, a publicly traded software company. While at BindView, Ms. Standley was responsible for the company’s worldwide tax planning, compliance and reporting. She began her career in public accounting with PricewaterhouseCoopers. 

Ms. Standley received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and an M.P.A. in Taxation from The University of Texas at Austin and is a Certified Public Accountant.

She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Texas Society of CPAs.

 

Jason Morgan

Director, Financial Reporting

Prior to joining EnCap in January 2011, Mr. Morgan served as an Audit Manager with PricewaterhouseCoopers and has over eight years of experience in public accounting. While at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Mr. Morgan worked primarily on the audits of financial services companies performing GAAP and statutory financial statement audits.

Mr. Morgan received a Master in Professional Accounting and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from The University of Texas at Austin and is a Certified Public Accountant.

He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Texas Society of CPAs.

Caleb Allen

Senior Manager – Tax

Prior to joining EnCap in August 2012, Mr. Allen served as a Tax Manager with PricewatehouseCoopers and has over eight years of experience in public accounting. While at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Mr. Allen worked primarily on the EnCap tax compliance engagement and other upstream oil and gas partnership tax compliance engagements.

Mr. Allen received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Baylor University and is an Enrolled Agent.

Cole Sanches

Prior to joining EnCap in July 2014, Mr. Sanches served as an Audit Manager with PricewaterhouseCoopers and has over seven years of experience in public accounting. While at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Mr. Sanches worked primarily on the audits of integrated energy and financial services companies performing IFRS, US GAAP and statutory financial statement audits.

Mr. Sanches received a Master in Professional Accounting and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from The University of Texas at Austin and is a Certified Public Accountant.

He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Katherine Cangelosi

Assistant Controller

Houston

Prior to joining EnCap in July 2008, Ms. Cangelosi served as an Accounting Assistant with Mid-South Telecommunications Company, Inc. from 1997 to 2008. In this capacity, she handled various accounting and reporting duties for the Harry E. Bovay, Jr. Foundation, S&A Telephone Company, Bovista Real, Inc., and Mid-South Telecommunications Company, Inc. 

Ms. Cangelosi received a Master of Business Administration in Finance and International Business and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from the University of St. Thomas in Houston.

Joseph Anderson
Senior Tax Manager

Prior to joining EnCap in January 2023, Mr. Anderson served as a Senior Tax Manager with PricewatehouseCoopers and has over eight years of experience in public accounting. Mr. Anderson’s career has been focused on private equity and financial services tax consulting and compliance.

Mr. Anderson graduated from Texas A&M University with a Master of Science in Accounting and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting. He is a Certified Public Accountant.

Jane Gu

Senior Accountant

Houston

Prior to joining EnCap in February 2016, Ms. Gu spent about three years at Atlantic Trading and Marketing, where she managed the company’s financials, treasury functions and reporting. Previously, she had worked at SBM Offshore and Peabody Energy as a Senior Accountant and served in public accounting in the financial audit area for a combined seven and a half years.

Ms. Gu is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Master of Science in Accounting from Saint Louis University.

John M. Stricker

Senior Accountant

Prior to joining EnCap in February 2000, Mr. Stricker spent a combined six years with Randall’s Food Markets and Sysco Corporation in the financial reporting area. Mr. Stricker’s primary duties with EnCap include fund and investor reporting for each of the investment funds.

He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Houston and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Leigh Anne Hooper

Prior to joining EnCap in July 2016, Ms. Hooper spent two years working at Ernst & Young, where she focused on federal and state tax compliance and provisions for clients in a variety of industries.

Ms. Hooper graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas A&M University with a Master of Science in Finance and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and Business Honors. She is a Certified Public Accountant.

She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Leslie Smith

Legal & Compliance Administrator

Houston

Prior to joining EnCap in June 2021, Ms. Smith served as a Senior Paralegal in Corporate & Securities at Thompson & Knight LLP for a total of 16 years. She has also served in the roles of Senior Paralegal in Legal - Corporate Services and Compliance Coordinator (Senior Compliance Analyst) in Global Compliance at Noble Energy, Inc. during her seven-year employment.

Ms. Smith received a B.S. in Business Management with Honors from the University of Phoenix, and she is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and a Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP).

Ms. Smith is a member of the Paralegal Division of the State Bar of Texas, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics.

Ben Bryson
Treasury Accountant

Prior to joining EnCap in January 2022, Mr. Bryson served as a Senior Associate with PricewaterhouseCoopers with three years of experience in public accounting. While at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Mr. Bryson worked primarily on Asset and Wealth Management engagements, including the EnCap audit engagement and other private equity and specialized fund engagements. Previously, he worked in the banking and credit union industry in a variety of cash management and treasury roles.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Utah

Catharine Mixon
Treasury Accountant

Prior to joining EnCap in November 2022, Ms. Mixon served as a Tax Senior with Deloitte where she spent two years in the Business Tax Services group.  While at Deloitte, Ms. Mixon focused on federal compliance and provisions for corporations and partnerships in a variety of industries.

Ms. Mixon graduated from the University of Mississippi where she received a Master in Accountancy and a Bachelor of Accountancy. She is a Certified Public Accountant.

Sarah Freeman
Tax Database Administrator
Houston

Prior to joining EnCap in January 2022, Ms. Freeman was the Fund Administrator for Hand Benefits & Trust Company. Prior to that, she spent five years working in various rolls such as accounting, office management, sales and human resources. Ms. Freeman’s primary duties with EnCap is assisting the tax team.

Ms. Freeman holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of the Incarnate Word.
